The second Sister of Roe is envisioned as Minerva, an homage to the Roman goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare, as well as the determined suffragettes of the early 1900s. Minerva will embody how women's voices and votes can yield victory over social conservatism and legislative restrictions of reproductive rights. Her color palette will be drawn from the suffragette movement, which used purple for loyalty and constancy to purpose. Her stylized Victorian bustle will reveal an interactive feature--antique voting booth with old-fashioned pull levers beneath her bustle. Minerva's body will be made from papier-mache crafted from newspaper and other print media headlines, maps, and data reports related to the right to choose. This sculpture will employ a digital soundscape to underscore the power of unified women's voices and political actions.
